With Roche's fall lease of a 30k SF of lab space in Alexandria Center for Life Science on 29th Street at the East River, just the 12k SF 15th floor of the 421k SF west tower (all lab space) remains, says Cushman & Wakefield's Matthias Li (right, with Winoker Realty's Roy Somwaru and C&W's Remy Liebersohn). He tells us Cushman is marketing not just to pharmaceutical companies but also venture capital and private equity firms--any potential tenant that could benefit the life sciences community there. Almost all the steel is up, and it'll open at the end of this year. The 308k SF east tower (office) opened in 2010, and Matthias tells us four more acres on the north side remain to be developed and could be a mix of office and lab. (Isn't that combo how mild-mannered businessmen spill hazardous material and become superheroes?)
