RETAIL NETWORKS AT CITI FIELD
Last night, we joined The Retail Network and over 550 of our closest Tri-State retail friends for a night of schmoozing at the new Citi Field. The non-profit’s founders: The Fagen Group’s Stu Fagen, CBRE’s Jayson Siano, and Kimco Realty’s Josh Weinkranz (with greeters Tiffanie Peete and Michelle Palazzo). They tell us that membership has increased to almost 500 in the past two months. Its next event will be a golf and tennis outing on June 8; for the non-sporty, it includes dinner.

New Street Realty Advisors’ Joshua Gettler and Matthew Gorman with Winick Realty’s Lori Shabtai. You’ve probably seen Lori’s name on posters around Manhattan; she’s currently marketing the Virgin Megastore space at Union Square and retail space at 530 Fifth, 428 Broadway, and 330 Park Ave. South. Joshua just brokered a 6,700-SF lease at 154 Bleecker for new vegetarian restaurant Otarian.

Milbrook Properties’ Thomas LiPuma and Jeffrey Katz, with Affiliated Adjustment Group’s Bruce Azus, echoed fellow networkers’ sentiments: everyone’s trying to keep their properties afloat and keep tenants from vacating space these days. Also heard last night: to save money, many execs aren’t heading off to ICSC’s RECon in Vegas next month, making regional networking that much more important. (More pictures of last night)
