Parkway Properties Signs Deal With Google Fiber

Parkway Properties just signed a deal with Google Fiber to bring gigabit-speed Internet service to its offices in Charlotte, Atlanta and Austin. The Florida-based REIT owns prominent buildings, like the Hearst Tower and NASCAR Plaza buildings in Charlotte. Parkway VP and IT director Joel Anderson says a Google Fiber partnership would help the office REIT maximize asset value—one way is by having tenants use Google Fiber's small business services, Charlotte Business Journal reports. The partnership could expand to Parkway's other properties, which spread across 44 office properties of 16.2M SF of leasable space. It is unclear when Google Fiber will be available. [CBJ]
