China's Sovereign Fund Says Trump Is Creating Ample U.S. Investment Opportunities

China Investment Corp., the world's second-largest sovereign fund worth $814B, believes President-elect Donald Trump’s policies will make the U.S. more attractive to foreign investors.

CIC chairman Ding Xuedong said increased fiscal spending and infrastructure investments could open the door to more investment opportunities in the U.S., particularly by participating in more manufacturing acquisitions, Bloomberg reports. He also pointed to real estate and technology as promising industries under the Trump administration.

But these investment opportunities could be limited if Trump goes ahead with his campaign promise to name China a currency manipulator, ignite a trade war and impose a 45% tariff on Chinese imports. [Bloomberg]
