NYC: Manhattan's Second Ace Hotel to Open

National Hotel
Placeholder

New York will become the first city with two Ace Hotels. (A gambler calls that "pocket aces.") The first, in NYC's NoMad neighborhood near the Flatiron Building, served as the hub of the city's booming tech and creative industries, and now, Eastern Consolidated's Roberto Ortiz and Alan Miller tell us their clients Omnia Group and North Wind Group have paid $30M for a Salvation Army property in Manhattan's Bowery District (not so long ago the haven of kitchen supply stores). There, the JV plans a 180-room Ace Hotel and possibly luxury condos. The top eight floors of the 55k SF, former SRO hotel have gone unused for years and will follow in the footsteps of the first Ace Hotel—a former maritime workers' hotel in Seattle's Belltown.
