Florida-based Carter Validus is in talks to buy a major Atlanta data center owned by ETrade. Sources tell our Bisnow Atlanta reporter that Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT--which almost solely invests in MOBs and data centers--is in talks to buy 1650 Union Hill Rd, a 165k SF Tier IV data center facility in Alpharetta, metro Atlanta's data alley. Carter Validus, led by CEO John Carter, has bought four data centers since March, in Charlotte, Milwaukee, Chicago and another in Alpharetta, a 185k SF center run by GE for $56.7M. This year, the REIT has spent $470M on data center and medical office buys.
