Drury Wants A Hotel In SoBro, Too

Placeholder

St. Louis-based Drury Hotels Co is proposing a 390-room Drury Plaza Hotel at 315 Third Ave S in SoBro, to join the frenzy of hotel development in that part of town. The property is the 16th hospitality development proposed or underway in SoBro, according to the Nashville Business Journal. That'll add 4,475 rooms, if all of the properties are built.

The hotelier, like so many others, wants to capitalize on the tourism-convention business boom that Nashville's experiencing. Drury tasked Nashville architect Earl Swensson Associates to design the hotel, according to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency. The MDHA has jurisdiction over the development's design, since it would be in one of the agency's redevelopment districts. As yet, there's no timetable for the proposed hotel. [NBJ]
