New-to-Market Companies Like Miami

The latest new-to-market major tenant for Miami: W. R. Berkley Corp, which is opening its regional HQ for Latin America at 600 Brickell, taking 21k SF. Connecticut-based Berkley is an insurance holding company that’s among the largest commercial-line writers in the US. JLL’s Noël Steinfeld, who repped the landlord, tells us that Miami has drawing power for such companies as an acknowledged gateway city, not just physically (with airports), but also in its reputation as an international jumping-off point. PointeGroup Advisors EVP Jack Lowell repped Berkley in the deal.
