Possible New Life For Abandoned Hawthorne Plaza

Placeholder

The abandoned Hawthorne Plaza mall could soon be replaced by an outdoor mall with shops, courtyards, parklets and residential space.

The LA Planning Commission has accepted a proposal by The Charles Co to demolish the decaying mall to make way for a mixed-use complex, according to the Daily Breeze.

The project could be built in the style of Glendale’s Americana at Brand or other similar properties and include about 500k SF of retail, more than 800k SF of office space and 600 residential units. [DB]
