The Arts District’s breweries and bars will soon be joined by a new taproom for boozy fizzy water.

Truly Hard Seltzer is planning to open an 8K SF, 350-person indoor-outdoor taproom for alcoholic sparkling water next door to Angel City Brewery, a former warehouse-turned-popular nightlife destination. The project broke ground in August and is expected to open in early 2022, Truly announced Wednesday.

The venue is expected to offer seltzers on tap as well as food and live entertainment when it opens. The exterior is set to feature murals commissioned by local artists.

"Our drinkers are all about exploration and discovery, and we want to give them that in unexpected ways," said Lesya Lysyj, chief marketing officer of The Boston Beer Co., which owns the Truly Hard Seltzer brand.

A hard seltzer taproom would fit in the Arts District, which is an established craft beer destination, with breweries like Mumford Brewing, Boomtown Brewery and Arts District Brewing Co. within its boundaries.

Truly LA wouldn't be the first venue for hard seltzer in the neighborhood, either. Ventura County-based brewer Flying Embers opened a taproom last year with hard seltzer, boozy kombucha and craft beer on the menu.
