Demolition To Begin For Ports O' Call In San Pedro

San Pedro's Ports O’ Call Village is about to undergo its first phase of demolition work to make way for a new revitalization project.

The LA Board of Harbor Commissioners gave the green light to the demo last week: 92 mostly vacant marina slips at Berths 80 to 83 will be demolished, along with a building at 950 Sampson Way, according to the Daily Breeze.

As part of the redevelopment, a 30-acre retail and dining destination, known as San Pedro Public Market, will be created.

The Board of Harbor Commissioners OK'd the $150M proposal for the 30-acre Ports O’ Call by the LA Waterfront Alliance in May.

The makeover is being done by The Ratkovich Co and Jerico Development.

Work is expected to begin in November. [DB]
