Hudson Pacific Plans 18-Story Office Tower in Hollywood

Hudson Pacific Properties has submitted plans for an 18-story office building at 5901 Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. The project’s 1.5-acre site, currently a parking lot, is across the street from the firm’s Icon building under construction at Sunset Bronson Studios. Netflix inked a deal earlier this year for 200k SF there.

Designed by Gensler, the project consists of 10 floors with 274k SF of office space over eight podium levels that include 26k SF of street-level retail topped by seven stories of parking, according to Urbanize LA. The combination of above and below grade parking will accommodate 1,118 cars. The structure features a multi-tiered design that creates stepped-garden terraces at various levels adjacent to offices, providing outdoor spaces for occupants to relax, work and congregate.

This area of Hollywood is becoming a mecca for companies at the intersection of the technology and entertainment industries. Kilroy Realty Corp is underway on two creative office mixed-use complexes nearby, including the $485M, 675k SF Columbia Square on the legendary CBS studios campus and the $300M Academy Square next door to the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. Viacom has signed up for 180k SF at Columbia Square, where it will consolidate its five cable properties, and Neuehouse, a creative workspace collaborative, will occupy 93k SF there. [ULA]
