CIM Group Putting New Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard

Another new hotel is rising in Hollywood, this one along the Walk of Fame near the Kodak Theatre and Capitol Records.

CIM Group is developing the six-story project, designed by Gene Fong Associates, which will include up to 167 guest rooms and suites, nearly 20k SF of ground-floor retail, and 1,600 SF of community/art space.

The hotel, which may be managed by Hyatt House, is on a .75-acre site occupied by a number of low-rise commercial structures, reports Urbanize LA. The project will provide a full range of resort-style amenities—a pool deck, a fitness center, a bar/club, a business center and some small meeting rooms.

The hotel’s exterior design staggers elements to create changing patterns across the building's façade, while ground-level windows and glass provide a pedestrian-friendly street front of shops, a restaurant and possibly a black-box theater, according to the architect. Construction is expected to begin in February 2016, with completion in early 2018. [ULA
