The Venice firm is working on a new concept for the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane in Australia. Jerde senior design principal Tammy McKerrow tells Bisnow the firm is part of a design team working on the major urban redevelopment, which will create a one-of-a-kind destination. The project calls for a sky deck, five new premium hotel brands, including Ritz-Carlton and Rosewood, 50 restaurants and bars, and a whole lot more. The team includes Jerde, Steelman Partners, Grimshaw and Cottee Parker. Here's Tammy giving a tour of a local project (more on that later).

Tammy says the largest percentage of the company's work remains international, with significant projects in China, Australia, South Korea, Russia and Mexico. But the company also is seeing an uptick in local work, especially in SoCal, such as Pacific City, a 191k SF development in Huntington Beach. The $130M project from DJM Capital Partners will create an open-air beach village setting on PCH. The waterfront development is scheduled to open later this year.

Here's a rendering of Pacific City. Other local work for Jerde includes the new ArcLight Cinema under construction on the third level of the Santa Monica Place (also designed by Jerde), set for completion later this year, as well as a number of repositioning schemes currently in progress that remain confidential.
