Westlake Might Get New Affordable Housing At Alvarado And Valley Streets
The nonprofit is eyeing a 0.43-acre site at 166 South Alvarado St. for the project, which would be known as Hope on Alvarado.
It would include 90 studio and one-bedroom apartments, Urbanize LA reports.
According to a motion from LA City Council Member Mitch O'Farrell, the organization is requesting $20M in state bonds to buy the land and build the development.
A small medical office building that dates back to the 1940s now sits on the site.
It is not yet known what will happen to that Streamline Moderne building.
