Royal Mint Court Scheme Approved

Royal Mint Court

Delancey and LRC were given the green light for a 600k SF office project at the former site of the Royal Mint. Plans call for the 5.2-acre site to be transformed into a campus of up to five modern office buildings with retail and public realm facilities.

Three 1980s-era buildings will be scaled back to the frame and remodelled to make way for 550k SF of new office space and 50k SF of shops, cafés and restaurants. Up to 1.8 acres will be public space suitable for community events.

The flexible floor plates of the offices are designed for a wide array of potential tenants, delivering large media-style spaces, and smaller spaces for creatives and startups. The development will be capable of accommodating in excess of 6,000 employees.

The historic heart of the site is the Johnson Smirke building, a Grade 2 Listed building, which will be refurbished to create 23k SF of office space with floor plates up to 9.5k SF above a restaurant/bar at ground and lower ground levels and a roof terrace with panoramic views towards the Tower of London.
