Hot Retailer Alert: Tuesday Morning
Tuesday Morning is looking bright. The brand is upgrading its real estate, making stores more organized, changing the product mix, and making its image more attractive. Edge Realty VP Jonathan Hicks (here with wife Rebecca) helped the retailer with three recent leases: 12k SF in the Market at Crenshaw, 12k SF in the Westhill power center and 13k SF in Katy Ranch. The Katy location will be Tuesday Morning’s first upgraded Houston location in an overall campaign to move to junior box space (at least 10k SF) in middle to upper middle income areas.
Jonathan says the chain is aiming for more consistency (it used to be a small discount retailer only open a day or two; now it’s a bigger company open typical retailer hours seven days each week) and its new spaces will be more accessible, visible and efficient. It’s also mixing up its merchandise, keeping housewares and appliances but forgoing clothing for more furniture and luggage. These three leases bring Tuesday Morning to about 25 Houston locations, and Jonathan has more in the works to expand in areas the brand isn’t fully covering. Houston is one of Tuesday Morning’s best markets (if not the best), Jonathan tells us.
