McCord Development did groundbreaking a little differently last week, celebrating the beginning of FMC Technologies’ construction process. First of all, it made its guests pitch in—above, Avison Young's Scott Fikes took part in the 30-second challenge to unearth a prize (they included everything from chainsaws to a new Polaris four-person Ranger) in the sandpit. The official ceremony was a bit more formal, but there was still a twist, with both McCord execs and FMC Technologies execs breaking ground simultaneously on each side of the property line.

This photo proves McCord prez Ryan McCord and FMC execs are probably great at Risk. FMC prez John Gremp had a big announcement—the firm is consolidating its 10 Houston locations into Generation Park over the next 10 years, starting with the Subsea Services division.
