The legal battle surrounding Montrose Management District just got deeper. In a new lawsuit against the district and its board members, commercial property owners have reasserted their demand to be reimbursed millions of dollars in assessments. Late last year a Harris County court ruled in favor of the property owners, ordering the management district to reimburse nearly $6.6M.

The new lawsuit, which is seeking class-action status, claims the district and its board members "arrogantly continue to ignore these findings and instead engage in this unconstitutional and illegal conduct until the present time."

Montrose Management District canceled its monthly board meeting, but district officials said in a statement Monday evening, "The district views this latest filing as simply another tactic undertaken by the plaintiff's attorney to further a legal action going back more than five years."
