H-E-B And Midway Offer First Look At Buffalo Heights Mixed-Use On Washington

Midway has unveiled new details for Buffalo Heights, an integrated, mixed-use property anchored by H-E-B, at Washington Avenue and South Heights Boulevard.

The first phase will include the 96k SF H-E-B with multilevel parking, a five-story, luxury multifamily community of 232 units, approximately 37k SF of office space and an additional 2k SF of ground-floor retail. Phase 1 of the Buffalo Heights District is owned by BKR Memorial II, a Houston-based, privately held company of the Russell and Glenda Gordy family. The project was designed by Ziegler Cooper.

"We are looking forward to creating a unique shopping destination for our neighbors along the Washington corridor,” H-E-B Houston president Scott McClelland said.“Our new store will be reminiscent of the community it serves and add to the longevity of this distinctive development.”

Within the Buffalo Heights District, a variety of existing real estate assets benefit from the ongoing transformation of one of the city’s most desirable and unique urban redevelopments. 100 Waugh Drive and 55 Waugh Drive, both managed by Midway, are nearby, as are the multifamily communities of Memorial Heights and Bayou Park, with a combined 1,125 units.
