Huge Mixed-Use Coming Along Buffalo Bayou Park

The $58M effort to improve Buffalo Bayou Park from tip to tail looks like it's benefiting commercial real estate as well as park-goers. Houston-based DC Partners plans to develop a $500M mixed-use development at the southeast corner of Allen Parkway and Gillette Street. The project, designed by Gensler, will feature a luxury hotel, housing, retail and an office tower. DC Partners and Tianqing Real Estate Development bought the land in May.

Don't expect it any time soon. DC Partners CEO Roberto Contreras told the Houston Business Journal construction likely won't kick off till 2018 and the hotel won't be operational till 2020. Waiting on mixed-use developments near Buffalo Bayou is nothing new for Houstonians. [HBJ]
