Houston's largest health system plans to build a new five-story patient tower at the Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital Campus in Humble. The plan was unveiled alongside the announcement that the system purchased the campus from the Northeast Hospital Authority for an undisclosed price.

The new 123k SF facility will have 90 patient rooms with enough flexibility to add another 30. The new tower, which isn't expected to be completed till 2018, will also house dining services for guests and staff.

Healthcare is hot all over Houston. Nearby, Memorial Hermann is working on a 45k SF convenient care center in Kingwood. The healthcare system is also working on locations in the Heights area and League City. Memorial Hermann's 250k SF hospital in Pearland recently opened and it's opening a new 321k SF campus in Cypress.

Luckily, if anyone experiences whiplash from this much healthcare development there's surely a facility nearby.
