Houstonians have extra dough to shell out for presents this year—four of the top 10 US cities for holiday budgets are in our own backyard.

Sugar Land came in at the top of the Houston-area spots in a study from WalletHub comparing max holiday budgets in 563 metros. It's fourth in the country, budgeting $2,422.

Pearland was No. 8, with a budget of $2,162, followed by The Woodlands with a budget of $2,158. League City was at No. 10 with $2,112. Three other Texas cities cracked the top 10: Flower Mound, Frisco and Allen.

At No. 298, Houston was the lowest-rated Texas city on the list. WalletHub found that the typical Houston holiday shopper has a monthly income of $3,788, monthly expenses of $3,284, savings of $4,641 and an average age of 32.7.

The financial website analyzed income, expenses, savings, debt and other data provided by partner TransUnion to determine the maximum budgets.
