In NYC, high-end condominiums, luxury apartments,
high-rise hotels, towering office buildings,
and
chic retail and restaurants are being built and delivered at an astonishing pace,
all over each of the five boroughs.
But that's not all these neighborhoods have. They also have pockets of
opportunity.
Neighborhoods in all five boroughs
are
now included in
a new
federal program designed to bring investment and development into
the region — and savvy investors and city officials are
working together to
spark economic activity.
The Opportunity Zones tax incentive was included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that
President
Donald Trump signed into law in December 2018. But, the idea stems
from
a 2015 white paper from
the
Economic
Innovation Group, a D.C.-based think tank that is now
working
closely
with states to help implement the program. How are these new zones affecting decision-making for new development throughout the New York area?
We will take a deep dive into the current and expected effects of Opportunity Zones, as well
as
neighborhoods to watch, capital markets, and major projects that will come online in 2019.
As always, there will be plenty of opportunities to
network
with industry leaders and learn from top executives.
We
look forward to seeing you there!
