About Canary Wharf Group:
Canary Wharf Group (CWG) is the developer of the largest urban regeneration project in Europe and integrates sustainability at its core. CWG develops, manages and currently owns interests in approximately 9 million square feet of mixed-use space and over 1,100 Build to Rent apartments. CWG has created a 24/7 city where people can live, work and thrive on the Canary Wharf estate and enjoy all the benefits: great transport links, access to green spaces and waterside living; and a wide range of amenities including an award-winning arts and events programme. Canary Wharf’s retail offering comprises over 300 shops, including grocery stores, pharmacies, health clubs, bars and restaurants, all within 15 minutes’ walk.
The Company’s current £1.3bn construction activity is composed of 500,000 square feet of commercial properties and over 1,600 new homes for sale and rent.

Why This Matters
What You'll Learn:
What makes a life science hub attractive to an investor, and what local efforts can life science hubs prioritise to secure future investment.
The appropriate amount of due diligence required ahead of selecting a site to develop on.
How to prioritise the speed of delivery without compromising quality.
How facilities can be designed to attract exciting tenants and drive innovation.
Drug discovery, vaccine development and other innovation in life sciences in 2023, and how this has impacted life sciences real estate innovation in design in space.
How You'll Do More Business: Despite the current economic environment, demand for Life Sciences real estate has continued to encourage significant investment. According to DTRE take-up for science-related real estate across the golden triangle of London, Oxford and Cambridge totalled 1.26M SF in 2022, the highest figure in the past five years. Life science and biotech companies based in the golden triangle have also managed to secure £2B of funding over the same time period — ahead of pre-pandemic levels. The combination of these factors, alongside a continued supply demand imbalance have continued to attract vast quantities of investment from domestic and international companies in 2023... but will this continue into 2024? Hear from our expert speakers on the opportunities and challenges of attracting investment as a life sciences hub moving forward, the appropriate considerations required before embarking on development, and how to listen to your tenants to future proof your lab space.
