Construction began this week on the Gaylord Rockies Hotel, a 1,500-room hotel and conference center in Aurora. The project has a planned opening targeted for Thanksgiving 2018, according to the developer, Houston-based RIDA Development Corp. In October, the Colorado Economic Commission green-lighted a more than $81M subsidy for it. [DP]
