Stockdale Buys Design District Luxury Showroom

The ink’s still drying on Stockdale Investment Group's hot purchase of The International on Turtle Creek, a 155k SF, seven-acre property in the Design District that houses high-end home décor retailers Allan Knight, Tufenkian Artisan Carpets and Couristan.

Its prime location—minutes from Downtown, the American Airlines center, the Riverfront area (being redeveloped as part of the multimillion-dollar Trinity River Corridor Project) and more—sweetened the deal.

Stockdale CEO Ken Pratt tells us all the activity within the Design District, including the Virgin Hotel underway within a block of the International, drew his attention, and he expects the International to be a large part of the vibrancy. The property fits Stockdale's overall strategy of owning, managing and leasing high-value Class-A assets in key urban centers.

Terms of the deal are undisclosed. But Ken reveals Stockdale was invited to the table by JLL's Adam Howells (who was marketing The International for seller Jim Lake Cos) due to its success with other properties.
