Granite Properties has acquired 8235 Douglas in Dallas’ Preston Center from Transwestern Investment Group. Granite will rebrand the 164K SF, 13-story tower as The Douglas.
In 2015, the tower built in 1980 underwent a $3M interior renovation to upgrade the windows, lobby, restrooms and elevators. System upgrades to the garage, fire panel, cooling tower and roof cost $1.5M.
Granite will add a customer lounge and conference center with coffee bar, grab-and-go food, a putting green, a golf simulator and outdoor seating.
Eastdil Secured’s Jonathan Napper and Michael McDonald repped Transwestern Investment Group. Granite's Paul Bennett and Carson Dennis repped Granite.
Plano-based Granite also owns Granite Park in Plano, Granite Place in Southlake, Granite Plaza in Irving and Spectrum Center in Addison. In the central business district, Granite owns 3333 Lee Pkwy., Cedar Maple Plaza I, II and III and Factory Six03.
