Westdale, KDC, StreetLights Residential and Vine Street Ventures started construction on the eight-acre Epic project in Deep Ellum. The mixed-use development will open at Good-Latimer Expressway and Pacific Street in late 2019, the Dallas Morning News reports

KDC will build a 250K SF office tower on land Westdale has owned for more than 20 years, and StreetLights will build a 20-story apartment tower with 300 units designed by Looney Ricks Kiss and 5G Studio Collaborative.

Vine Street will convert Knights of Pythias Temple, aka the Union Bankers Building, into a boutique hotel called Pittman Hotel with 164 keys.

Ground-floor retail will face a new, internal street. Balfour Beatty is the general contractor, and Perkins+Will is the architect. CBRE's Dennis Barnes, Tommy Nelson and Kenzie Killgore will lease the office tower.
