Live! by Loews, a 302-room, $150M hotel, broke ground in Arlington's Texas Live! Entertainment District. The project is a joint venture between Cordish Cos., the Texas Rangers and Loews Hotels & Co.

The hotel will anchor the new entertainment district, hoping to draw business and pleasure travelers alike with its proximity to the Rangers facilities and the Arlington convention center.

"Arlington is a really up-and-coming place located smack in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth, with a very pro-business mayor and very pro-business legislature, who took it upon themselves to transpose the city into an entertainment hub,” Loews Hotels & Co. Executive Vice President Alex Tisch told Commercial Property Executive.

Tisch said the absence of a real luxury hotel in the area was a major missed opportunity due to the presence of major sports destinations for football and baseball. Live! by Loews is meant to fill that void.

The Texas Live! Entertainment District will be ready to entertain in 2018, and Live! by Loews will open its doors to guests in 2019.
