Retail brokerage Weitzman is betting on the office environment as an ongoing source of pride and collaboration among employees despite a year working from home.

When the firm's headquarters employees return to Weitzman's office at 3102 Maple Ave. in Uptown Dallas this week, they will find themselves walking into a 50K SF renovation complete with a rehaul of the lobby, which now features a centerpiece staircase covered in quartz and glass.

The 31-year-old firm’s redone facility features multiple open areas and "cluster rooms," plus a 1,500 SF communal area known as Café 90, to encourage employee activity in safe and open spaces.

The office, designed by Entos and built out by MAAP Construction, is accented by luxury furniture from Teknion and Herman Miller.

The internal leadership group guiding the renovation project included Weitzman Chief Operating Officer Weldon Simons, Executive Chairman Herb Weitzman, Executive Vice President Michelle Caplan, President and CEO Marshall Mills, Director of DFW Construction Chas Fisher and Vice President of Operations Michael Meyers.

The project is expected to receive a distinguished building award at a ceremony held by TEXO, The Construction Association, this August. General contractor MAPP will specifically receive an award for its interior finish-out of the office space.
