WeWork Signs City's Largest Co-Working Lease

WeWork continues to expand its downtown footprint. While we were getting merry, the shared office space pioneer signed a 112k SF lease at 112 S Clark St, the former HQ of Chicago Public Schools.

WeWork will occupy four floors of the 20-story building, and the deal is the largest lease for a co-working company in the city, according to Crain's. BlueStar Properties bought the building for $28M last February and will reopen it in spring as The National.

WeWork spent much of 2015 in expansion mode. The company leased 105k SF of Google's former River North digs at 20 W Kinzie. It also signed a 50k SF lease at the McCormick Building last August. WeWork now controls 306k SF of office space in downtown, River North and Fulton Market. [Crain's]
