WeWork continues to perform an outsized role in Chicago’s downtown office market. Officials from the coworking firm said it will further expand its presence with a new 53K SF location at 1 South Dearborn St. and another 140K SF in 167 North Green St.

These will be the New York City-based company’s 10th and 11th Chicago locations, bringing it to more than 930K SF across several neighborhoods, including River North, the Loop and Fulton Market.

“With the addition of these two new locations, WeWork members have greater access to a campus-like ecosystem linking together innovative workspaces that allow them to cut their commute or meet a client in the area most convenient to them,” WeWork Midwest General Manager Megan Dodds said.

WeWork will open at 1 South Dearborn in September, occupying floors 20 and 21. Members will receive 24/7 building access, and amenities will include an on-site fitness center, a concierge and a bike-share program.

A joint venture of Shapack Partners and Focus Development will finish 167 North Green St., a 750K SF, 17-story tower under construction in Fulton Market, by next year, and WeWork plans to occupy three floors by mid-2021. Building amenities will include dog-friendly offices, an outdoor penthouse rooftop, an indoor lounge, a town hall space that converts to a basketball court, a full-service gym and an indoor bike garage.

Both new WeWork locations will provide workspaces for businesses of all sizes, including small businesses, high-growth startups and Fortune 500 companies.
