Another suburban company is moving, only this one isn't heading downtown. The American Academy of Pediatrics is breaking ground today on a new HQ at Hamilton Lakes Business Park in Itasca. Itasca's gain is Elk Grove Village's loss. The academy will be leaving its longtime HQ at 141 Northwest Point Blvd when the new building is delivered next year.
The academy bought the 11.2-acre site last year and hired Opus Group to construct the new 106k SF building, Crain's reports. The size will be able to accommodate the academy's 348 employees, with room to spare.
Hamilton Lakes Business Park is seeing a bit of construction lately. Hamilton Partners and M&R Development broke ground on a 297-unit apartment complex next to the site. [Crain's]
