Onni Group's River North Multifamily Project Stalls

Placeholder

Onni Group's proposed 32-story apartment tower at the former Clark & Barlow Hardware site is stalled and likely dead, Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) told guests at a development meeting Tuesday. Onni's proposal for 353 W Grand called for 330 apartments, 271 parking spaces and a shared deck with a pool. Neighbors objected to the proposal and argued it would block their views and cut into a shared alley. Making matters worse, Onni was circulating new plans for the project to residents without Reilly's input. Without the alderman's support, the project would face tough opposition before a full City Council vote. Onni isn't hurting for projects in Chicago. It's developing the 1,500-unit Atrium Village in Old Town, and building a 25-story tower at 750 N Hudson. [DNA]
