JFJ Proposes 24-Story River North Condo Tower

Placeholder

The experts tell us River North is an emerging market for condos. Here's further proof. JFJ Development wants to build a 24-story condo tower at 300 W Huron.

The site is an undeveloped lot. JFJ's plans call for 71 condos, 16k SF of retail and 71 parking spaces; 57 of those will include lifts for residents needing to park a second car, Crain's reports. Not much else is known about the proposed development, but the full plans will be revealed at a Nov. 30 meeting at the Godfrey Hotel, starting at 6pm.

River North is one of Chicago's epicenters for multifamily development. Projects in the pipeline overwhelmingly veer toward apartments, but there are signs that condos are gaining strength, as prices reach near pre-bust levels. Belgravia bought two city-owned parcels in September with plans to build condos. Other condo developments like 400 W Huron are showing strong pre-sales. [Crain's]
