Developers Chris Ilekis and Kyle Glascott want to build a 50-unit TOD apartment building along the Blue Line's O'Hare branch at Western Avenue. Glascott and Ilekis showed their plans to the Bucktown Community Organization's zoning and planning committee, and received a warm response from committee members. The site at 1920 N Milwaukee has been vacant for years. If approved, the six-story building would be 140 feet from the Western station's entrance. The project also calls for 5,800 SF of street-level retail. TOD projects are popping up all along the Blue Line. Akara Partners is set to deliver a two-building, 270k SF project at 500 N Milwaukee next spring. Wicker Park Apartments wants to build 105 units at 710 W Grand.
