Another TOD Planned For Wicker Park

Placeholder

One of the busiest neighborhoods for multifamily construction is Wicker Park's Polish Triangle, near the intersection of Ashland and Milwaukee avenues, and Division Street. With the Division Street Blue Line Subway in the middle of the intersection, it's an ideal spot for TOD.

RDM Development filed plans with the city for a 16-story tower at 1624 West Division. The site is a parking lot but, if approved, RDM would build 135 apartments next to Vision (shown), a 60-unit complex it completed in 2010, Crain's reports.

Wicker Park is popular with multifamily developers thanks to how Milwaukee Avenue cuts through the heart of the neighborhood and is teeming with bicyclists, its proximity to the River North, Goose Island and Fulton Market/West Loop tech hubs, and a strong retail and nightlife district. Centrum Partners is ready to deliver the first phase of a 250-unit project west of Vision. LG Development is building a 58-unit building at the northwest corner of Milwaukee and Ashland. [Crain's]
