Segal in His Natural Habitat
We were skeptical when Habitat's Mark Segal told us that, in the past 40 years, his company has worked on everything in the multifamily sector: developing towers throughout Chicago, and managing thousands of units. But now that he'll be speaking at ourBisnow Multifamily Summit on March 18, the list seems complete.

Habitat's biggest current project is developing 360 W Hubbard, a luxury apartment building similar to its last development, Kingbury Plaza (that's the high-rise in the middle of this picture). It's also pursuing several acquisitions. The firm just landed the management assignment for The Kenmore on the North Side, a smoke-freeLEED-certified CHA development. Mark anticipates multifamily will continue to grow into the foreseeable future as the echo boomers lead more mobile lifestyles, constantly moving cities, changing jobs, and putting off settling down into a single-family home.
