SUBURBAN DATA CENTERS BOOM, TOO
Ascent’s Phil Horstmann tells us he's seeing success in the 'burbs. The developer has already signed two tenants to its new 250k SF spec data center in Northlake. Phil says he’s still finding strong enterprise user interest in the western suburb and is also seeing a huge increase in demand for data center space for companies that handle medical records, financial services, and apps for smartphones and iPads. The Chicago market is the most connected in the country, he tells us, and also has lower costs of energy than New York or LA.
