Framingham-based Bose Corp. is the latest firm to look to the urban core for office expansion.

The speaker and audio giant will lease 98K SF at Boston Landing’s 80 Guest St. beginning in summer 2018, it announced Monday. The news came the same day CNET reported the company’s CEO, Bob Maresca, will retire at the end of the year and be succeeded by current Bose President Phil Hess. Maresca has been with the company 31 years and will remain as chairman of the board and a trustee of the company.

Bose’s Boston office will be in the same building as the Boston Bruins' practice facility at Warrior Ice Arena. The company will maintain its headquarters in Framingham.

“The Bose transaction brings our 80 Guest Street property to near 100% leased and puts its imprint on the transformative nature and innovative spirit that is Boston Landing as the western gateway into Boston,” NB Development Group Managing Director Jim Halliday said in a prepared statement.

NB Development announced in September it had signed deals with life science companies Proteostasis Therapeutics and Swiss drug manufacturer Roche Diagnostics Operations for 30K SF spreads at 80 Guest St.

McCall & Almy represented Bose in the transaction, while Transwestern’s Steve Purpura and Perry Beal worked with the NB Development Group team of Jim Halliday, Bob Graham, Erin Harvey and Keith Craig.
