The 1,500-acre SouthField master planned development in the South Shore took another step forward with the launch of a 25-acre park and rec center.

Twenty-five acres have been reserved for the park, which will include hockey rinks, a gym, a lighted sports field complex, and a permanent version of the "Little Monsta" wiffle ball park.

Part of the site might also be the location of an elementary school, the Boston Business Journal reports. Master developer LStar tapped landscape architect LLD Collaborative to do the work. [BBJ]
