Former Gloucester Warehouse Now Luxe Hotel

Placeholder

A former two and a half story concrete warehouse in Gloucester is now home to the luxury Beauport Hotel Gloucester. Jim Davis, chairman of New Balance Athletics, and Sheree Zizik, owner of event hall Cruiseport Gloucester, developed the property, with Beverly-based Windover Construction as the project’s design-build contractor.

Once owned by frozen-food baron Clarence Birdseye, the property had a long road to realization, delayed for some time by appeals to its various permits, the Boston Business Journal reports.

The hotel rises four stories, with a second-story lobby, bar and restaurant, then two stories of rooms. Olson Lewis + Architects was the project’s architect, while Niemitz Design Group did the interior design work. [BBJ]
