FedEx Leases 300k SF Distribution Center At Sparrows Point

The developer of the former Sparrows Point steel mill has signed its first major tenant, FedEx Ground, for a 300k SF distribution facility to open August 2017. It's a milestone for Tradepoint Atlantic, the new name for the corporation that's turning the 3,100-acre former Bethlehem Steel plant into a transportation, logistics and manufacturing hub. FedEx is building its business on 50 acres leased to Scannel Properties, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. FedEx will employ 150 workers and create another 150 jobs for private contractors.
