Congrats to Ballard Spahr's Roger Winston and Lila Shapiro-Cyr (with colleague Ray Truitt at Ocean City, MD's Gateway Grand). At its annual meeting last week, the Maryland State Bar Association named Roger a Distinguished Real Property Practitioner and installed Lila as chair of its real property section. Roger's latest take on CRE? Equity is now looking for deals, and banks are lending. Wall Street may have dipped last week, but investors remain bullish on the Mid-Atlantic. Roger tells us he'll be spending a lot of time at Bethesda's Congressional Country Club as an 18th hole captain at the US Open. If you need to reach him, you'll have to drive out there and sneak into the sold-out event because cell phones, BlackBerrys, and PDAs are a no-no there.

Bob Manekin (right, with CBRE's Brendan Lough at our State of the Market event last month) is leaving the firm that shares his last name to join Colliers International in Baltimore. He'll become managing director and principal, and Colliers Baltimore CEO Tim Hearn says he hopes Bob's addition will help his firm increase its Baltimore City footprint.
