Texas State Expands STAR One Research Facility

Texas State University has a brand spanking newly expanded science lab. Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors completed a 16k SF lab and office suite expansion in the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) One facility that now tops 36k SF.

STAR One is an incubator for new and startup businesses by giving tenants access to secure wet labs, clean space, conference rooms and office space for research and development. STAR One is TSU’s first building dedicated to the research and commercialization efforts.

Hill & Wilkinson added wet laboratories, offices and support spaces for tenants in the $8M renovation.

Appropriate construction waste disposal, recycled materials and metals and rainwater collection were incorporated into the project to promote sustainability.

PhiloWilke Partnerships was the project architect. GarzaBury Engineering was civil engineer. E&C Engineers and Consultants served as MEP engineer, and Cardno Haynes Whaley served as structural engineer.
