Mercedes to ID HQ Site Tuesday?

All signs indicate Mercedes-Benz US will identify its HQ on Tuesday.

Mercedes' Rob Moran (here accepting a World Luxury Car award for the Mercedes S-Class) tells us that Mercedes CEO Stephen Cannon will be in Atlanta on Tuesday to make a joint announcement with Gov. Nathan Deal.

Rob declined to say what that announcement exactly will entail. But numerous sources say they expect the luxury car maker to identify the Glenridge Hall site as its future HQ home. As the AJC previously reported, Mercedes was in talks with Ashton Woods to take a 10-acre sliver of the site for its campus. As we previously reported, Ashton Woods is under contract with the Mayson Family estate to buy the 76-acre estate that straddles Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs. It's unclear what the exact portion Mercedes would take. This could be the nail in the coffin to the other potential site: Abernathy 400, the Ackerman & Co/Cousins Properties JV at the corner of GA 400 and Abernathy Road.
