Wood Partners has revealed the look of its Midtown apartment project. And a new name.

The developer is under construction on Piedmont House, a 198-unit apartment project overlooking Piedmont Park off 12th Street. The high-end apartment tower, with street-level retail, is slated to deliver by winter 2018.

Wood Partners has been working on plans for Piedmont House since last year, when it filed permits to begin construction on what was originally called Alta at the Park. Wood also is pursuing 1000 Park Ave., a 27-story apartment tower in Buckhead that is set to include 224 units.

Average unit size at Piedmont House is 1,250/SF with asking rents at $2.80/SF, Wood Partners Director Bennett Sands said in an email. The units will be well above the average apartment size in Midtown, where units average 923 SF and are nearly $2/SF in rent, according to Haddow & Co.

“There is so much momentum in Atlanta right now, with a renewed focus on Midtown in particular,” Sands said. “From the Atlanta BeltLine to Piedmont Park, thousands of new jobs are being created annually, and residents are building their lives around Midtown. Piedmont House is an extension of this momentum.”
