Ashton Woods Part 2 in Sandy Springs

Ashton Woods is making even more housing inroads in Central Perimeter, just down the street from its project that involves Mercedes-Benz's US HQ.

The Atlanta-based residential and multifamily developer has just purchased 6860 Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd, a site that includes a building owned by Kadampa Meditation Center, and 1000 Peachtree-Dunwoody Ct; both are next to the North Springs MARTA station. Ashton Woods is planning to develop a 35-unit townhome project, says KW Commercial Atlanta's Joe Cannon. The assembled three-acre site traded for little more than $2M. Joe says the Buddhist organization is moving to Inman Park.

Ashton Woods, of course, is under contract to buy the Glenridge Hall site (home of the famed mansion that appears set for the wrecking ball) off Abernathy and Barfield roads, as we reported here. It plans to develop a single-family neighborhood, but also has carved out 12 acres of its assemblage, to sell to Mercedes for its new US HQ campus.
