Omni to Flag SunTrust Park Hotel

The longtime operators of the CNN Center hotel are going to be at-bat at SunTrust Park.

Omni Hotels & Resorts will be named as the flag operator for a hotel at the Braves mixed-use stadium in Cobb County, sources tell us. Omni, of course, operates the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center. While officials with the SunTrust Park development could not be reached for comment, and officials with Omni did not return calls seeking comment, sources say the hotelier will operate the planned 250-room hotel in the mixed-use development, pictured here.

Development partners with the Braves gave some hint as to the retailer lineup yesterday. Fuqua Development's Jeff Fuqua says there will be high-end, but not ultra-luxury, retailers, and even some retailers never seen in Atlanta before, plus plenty of local and national chef-driven restaurants. Fuqua's comments came during a CoreNet Global panel discussion on the Braves stadium at the Georgian Club yesterday, according to the AJC. “It’s not a lifestyle center, it’s more than a mixed-use center,” Jeff told the paper.

Omni is the latest big corporate name to emerge associated with SunTrust Park. As we first reported here, Comcast will occupy the nine-story office building at SunTrust Park for its Innovation Lab—a main hub for Comcast's R&D network that will house engineers, software writers and other tech employees.
